22 Feb 2011The Indiana Pacers won seven of eight after Frank Vogel took over as interim coach at the end of January. Though they lost two consecutive games heading into the All-Star break, the Pacers still appear to be riding the seas of change to a solid finish in a disappointing season.
Tonight the Pacers are 1.5-point favorites in Washington against the Wizards. The Wizards have been the official sparring partners of the NBA. The Wizards have won only 15 games this season, 14 of which have been at home, and have won only three games since January 19. Two of those wins came against Cleveland and Milwaukee. The Wizards may not be good, but they aren’t the worst team around.
The Wizards have been giving up an average of 103 points per game this season. This should work in the favor of Indiana who has been scoring more points as of late with the changes put in place by Vogel. Prior to Vogels takeover, the Pacers had topped 100 points 15 times. Since his take over, they’ve topped the century mark in 10 straight. The Wizards have scored 100 points in only 10 of their home games this season.
The Pacers should resume their inspired play in Washington tonight.
Pick: The Indiana Pacers (-1.5)
