MLB: Milwaukee Brewers (-115) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (+105); Over/Under (O/U 9u -120)
The Arizona Diamondbacks are hoping the return trip home can turn their post season around after they lost two straight in Milwaukee.
The D-backs have lost four of the past five games. In that run, the D-backs have struggled to put runs on the board, and to keep opponent runs off of the board. It’s been the perfect equation for a losing streak.
The Diamondbacks have two things working in their favor for Game 3. First, they will be at home for the first time this post season. Second, they’re sending Josh Collmenter to the mound.
While Collmenter may not be the ace of the staff, but as far as the Brewers are concerned, he might as well be.
The Brew Crew has had little success this season against Collmenter.
Collmenter is 1-0 against Milwaukee this season over two starts. Through 14 innings of work, the Brewers have yet to get a run across the plate against him and only three brewers have recorded a hit.
Shaun Marcum will pitch for Arizona.
Marcum is 8-3 on the road with a 2.21 ERA in 16 starts, so the D-Backs will not have an easy time saving their season. However, in Marcum’s one start against Arizona this season, he was pulled in the sixth inning after allowing four earned runs. Everybody in the lineup at least one hit against Marcum this season.
I really just don’t see Arizona getting swept out of the National League Division Series in three straight. The series may not make it back to Milwaukee for Game 5, but Game 4 in Arizona does look highly probably.
Pick: Take the Arizona Diamondbacks (+105)
